This week Leskin and I are taking a look at femicide and misogyny in James Tiptree Jr. (a.k.a. Alice B. Sheldon, Raccoona Sheldon)’s science fiction masterpiece “The Screwfly Solution.” We will be taking on issues of violence, specifically against women, in a world slowly loosing it’s cohesion to misogyny and devolving into full on civil unrest and eventually mass extinction. We will be asking questions about gender, propriety, and exactly when (if ever) does it become too late?
